Clown Town had a its regulars - and they were regular - like any other bar. This group started early in the morning with the jockey agents and the backsides at Santa Anita Racetrack and then continued on throughout the day with afternoon construction workers and business men unwinding to the the night shift  out to have a good time until closing.

  • Trapeze bar chin-up champ, Sunny Wilson (center) with a couple of other Santa Anita backside regulars got Clown Town off to an early start in the mornings.
  • Another regular. "Kiwi", originally from New Zealand. No one remembers his real name. Behind him is Chico, another regular.
  • Another regular was John Stillson, the brother of Tony Stillson, the Monrovia High Scool basketball coach
  • Everyone loved co-owner, Tommy Turiace
  • These three regulars came in every Tuesday night after bowling league. Clown Town was the favorite hangout of young and old alike.
  • The chin-up champ, Sonny Wilson< and friend celebrating Saint Patrick's day. There was always plenty of corned beef and cabbage.
  • Tommy Rose was another of the Clown Town regulars
  • Jim "The Sting" Smith was always on the hustle. With a trunk loaed up from the wholesale houses in Los Angeles, he always had something you needed. Who needed a mall?
  • Behind the bar is Ed Crane talking it up with a couple of Clown Town regulars, Ed Knnisley and Jack Buffington.
